Senior Copywriter


The Senior Copywriter develops and produces high-level marketing and advertising content for all aspects of Ideabar’s business, including B2B. The ideal candidate is a gifted wordsmith and tireless idea generator who is eager to collaborate with our writers, designers, art directors, creative director and internal account teams throughout all stages of the creative process. Assignments will include: brand writing and naming; digital marketing (social media, mobile ads, emails, websites and blogs); marketing materials, native stories and outdoor media; print, TV and radio advertising, to name a few. The successful candidate will possess a curious mind, a creative streak, a knowledge of culture that is both deep and wide, and a passion for words and hard work.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Creates high-quality creative content and generates big ideas that help win business and routinely delight clients
  • Understands the strategic thinking needed to assist in developing brand campaigns by working with the internal team (Creative Director, Art Director, Account Manager, creative team, New Business team) to define original concept, create a target audience and begin creative process
  • Enhances creative quality by reviewing concept ideas with Creative Director, Art Director and creative team
  • Understands research and how consumer insights need to shape and inform all big ideas and content messaging
  • Understands target audiences and how to translate copy and design into compelling creative
  • Understands the concept behind creative work and how it achieves client and business goals
  • Ensures written materials are clear, concise and persuasive to help bring the platform strategy to life
  • Proofs copy with an eye toward spelling, grammar and punctuation perfection
  • Juggles multiple assignments and works in a high-pressure environment
  • Manages time and establishes priorities while maintaining flexibility to respond to changing demands
  • Professionally and effectively communicates with clients, peers and producers, demonstrating sound reasoning and judgment skills
  • Able to take direction and feedback and shape work to reflect feedback
  • Works at the speed of business and client needs
  • Needs to be able to articulate creative thinking to peers, directors and clients


  • At least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in an agency setting
  • Degree in advertising, English, communications, journalism or related field
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofing skills with demonstrated experience in conceptual writing in marketing or advertising, digital, product, brand messaging and promotional copy
  • Strong presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working on new creative presentations and preparing creative themes and taglines
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with a fast-paced team
  • Ability to own projects, demonstrate good judgment when working with team members and client contacts, and take initiative
  • Experience with managing day-to-day changes at every level of detail
  • Exceptional eye for detail and desire for perfection
