Just go with it
Music has never really been an important part of my life. I’ve always been more on the quiet side, so rather than listening to music I usually prefer quiet moments to collect my thoughts and enjoy the peace.
That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy music at all. In fact, being raised in the Latin culture, music is a must – at least in my family. I guess it just means that I don’t really have a favorite song or artist, or that I don’t really memorize songs or even pay attention to the lyrics most of the time.
I enjoy all genres and I find it very interesting how music has so much meaning to other people. But, personally, if I like the way something sounds, I just go with it.
So, here’s what I just went with this week…
As my co-workers know, I recently got engaged. While planning the proposal, I knew I wanted music playing in the background, and one of the songs I chose was Photograph by Ed Sheeran. This is one of my fiancée’s favorite songs
and, therefore, I had to play it like a gazillion times and, now, it has kinda’ grown on me.

I’m a designer and, sometimes, I just need music to keep me going on those long nights. One of my go-to’s is Vitas — An icon. An inspiration. A trendsetter.

I am a huge soccer fan and, so, in honor of the World Cup being held this year, I wanted to play something that connects with that. At every World Cup, they play many songs that represent the tournament-host country and, in 2010, one of the best World Cups ever was held in South Africa. Although many songs were created for the event, one of my favorites was Wavin’ Flag by K’naan.

As I said, I don’t really have favorite songs or artists and, sometimes, I just happen to hear something that I like and end up listening to it over and over…and over. Well, yesterday was a long day and I came across this song and it really pumped me up and kept me going.
